Bill's Playlist for Life

I Remember You – Frank Ifield       http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQF-VsbMfDA
Fist track on his greatest hits album (my dad’s).  An album I played over and over and could sing word for word.  Reminds me of countless happy childhood times of laughing, music and family (and, coincidentally, No 1 in the UK on the day Kate was born in 1962)

Rock and Roll – Led Zeppelin     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WzG64syKHA
A blur of memories of happy times in the Whifflet Arms (Thursdays to Sundays) with my brothers and our friends, frequent gigs at the Apollo and festivals

Graceland – Paul Simon     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDXzLeFUkpc
Honeymoon and life with Kate in our first flat J

She Makes a Sound – Hue & Cry     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4a1BAo_dFI
The overwhelming feelings of love for my new born children.  Particularly the line “And the universe contracts into her smile”.  I still cry at this one.

To Be Young (Is To Be Sad, Is To Be High) – Ryan Adams     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_TgoMm4q3E
Strumming, singing, strengthening friendships, McD in the Park – feel the love.  There has to be a ukulele reference and I opted for this one as it’s such fun to play, but it could have been so many others.

Despite the frustrations that the 5 song limit causes this was such a nice thing to do.  It really brought back some dormant but very welcome memories for me.  We had some family and friends over for dinner on Friday and it caused a great deal of animated conversation for a big part of our evening.
